We are currently developing this strand of our programming with the support of The City Bridge Trust: audio described performances for blind and visually impaired audiences as part of our touring programme.
Our plans so far are as follows:
Audio description: A live commentary which will give details of the visual aspects of a production. The commentary will be interspersed with the performers’ dialogue. Before the show begins you will hear an introduction which gives details of the set, costumes and performers. The commentary will be delivered via radio headsets.
Introduction on CD: Should you request it, we will send you the audio described introduction on CD to listen to before you come to the theatre.
Touch Tours: Prior to audio described performances, we hope to offer a free touch tour, which will take you onto the set of one of our shows. During the tour, the audio describer will guide you through the important costumes, set and props used in the show.
If you have any comments or suggestions on how we could improve our plans, please email email@example.com or call the office on +44 (0)20 7228 6688.
Fuel gratefully acknowledges the City Bridge Trust for the support of their access work.
